Pay Equity
As a female entering the workplace you can expect to be paid 6% less than your male equivalents and 20% less in five years time. This might be the reality now but if we send a message to the Government things can change. In June 2009, the Government scrapped the Pay and Employment Equity Unit citing it wasn't an important factor in closing the pay gap, but haven't yet told us what is.
OUSA has challenged the Government to tell us their plans when it comes to closing this gap by informing our members and providing Pay Equity postcards for indiviuals to send to government.
